You could never say that I was
Like a sheep or like a mule:
Only me, the trusty camel,
Can cross any sandy dunes.
The eastern sun is never rising
In the blazing eastern sky:
I'm the earliest one to be there
With my bucket and spade close by.
/ never need a drink!
Or bread or work (I think)!
A bunch of thorns will do
And heaps of sand for you know who!
I can dig or I can chuck it,
Lovely sand needs spade and bucket.
I can hide myself right under
Scratchy sand from nose to hooves.
But they say that life is like that,
You take the rough times with the smooth.
Oh what pleasure I am feeling,
Going barefoot in this waste.
Cleaning teeth's not half so boring:
Sand's the best there is in paste!
It's no problem that I carry
Two great humps upon my back.
I will take along my sand toys
'Cause for building I've a knack.
Castles, cities, and a palace,
With a tunnel going right through!
And my panama keeps the sun off,
While I see what things I do!
