Moving's so hard for an air ship,
Like a wale it's far too fat.
Being so huge I just don’t know
How they can fly and that is that.
Geese are quite a different matter
We can fly so very far.
With my thickly feathered body
I can follow any star.
I do more than stay there flapping
Up in the great blue sky
I have goose feathers for writing
My poems so divine.
Of seas I tell and oceans,
Of palaces and hovels,
And the odd romantic novel.
Off I go, no hesitation
Stops me when I must go far,
I will gather new impressions,
Show off just how great we are.
Seagull flies along beside me,
Then we’ll circle round some ducks,
Off I go goose-stepping wildly
Look up there, a goose! Good luck!
All my girl-friends are real stars,
The wind along the way’s a mate.
Flying with my friends beside me
Doing the pole’s a piece of cake,
Everywhere, the whole world over
Feathers falling from such height,
If you’ve caught one, then it’s likely
You have also things to write.
