Coming happy from the fields
To my home I swiftly steal,
Stuff my grain safe all around,
Where my copper trumpet’s found.
Put my fingers to the valves,
All at once it is so loud.
A merry tune with cheeks puffed out
Will make the whole world dance about.
Doo – doo – doo – doo – doo – doo – doo –
Doo – doo – doo!
I’ll take my trumpet in the grass,
The sun will shine on me at last.
To the garden or the pond,
Of my trumpet I’m so fond.
And when I walk or when I run
To a hill or meadow come,
Then I’ll play for hours and hours
To all the animals and flowers.
The trumpet has the sweetest sound.
All the birds fly from the ground.
And the river swirls and spins
When the fish stand on their fins.
The fierce grey wolf and heavy bull
Start to dance and play the fool,
And forget it’s time to sleep
Until morning dance and leap.
